Are compression type BNC connectors better? Clearly the answer is Yes! In our tests, a properly made cable using compression fittings could withstand 3 times the force exerted on the assembly before the cable separated from the connector (over a cable made with standard crimp connectors). Additionally these connectors are waterproof and will prevent corrosion from occuring inside of the connector. Are they for you, well depends. If you just want the best, need waterproof connectons, or if you will be putting more strain on your cables (moving them around more frequently), then yes you are better off spending a little more money with this system. Crimp type connections are more than adequate for most permanent CCTV installations. This connector is for RG-59 video coax cable only. | ||
